This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use our commercial mobile and web application built on the TripSpark platform (“Service”), and how we handle related communications including SMS/text messages.

This policy applies to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information by VTS when you use our Service, and when you interact with us via SMS communications. By choosing to use our Service or provide your mobile number, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect

Personal Information you provide:
Username, account credentials, vehicle details, contact information (such as phone number, email address).
Trip-related data (such as pickup/drop-off locations, vehicle assignment, mileage).
SMS communication records (text logs related to trip confirmations, reminders, or service updates).
Usage and technical information we collect automatically:
Device information (e.g., device name, operating system version, IP address).
Log Data: error and usage logs, app configuration when using the Service.
Location data: when you are logged into the application and the app is tracking a vehicle in service. Location data is collected only while the user is logged into the application and is used for vehicle tracking, trip mileage calculation, and same-day trip assignments. Location data is not used for advertising purposes. There is an in-app setting to disable location tracking when a vehicle is not performing service delivery.
Cookie and tracking data: Although our Service does not explicitly set browser cookies, the app may include third-party code or libraries that use them.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
Enable location tracking for vehicles, assign trips, calculate mileage, and enhance service delivery.
Send you trip confirmations, reminders, updates, and service alerts via SMS.

Comply with legal or contractual obligations.
Conduct analytics and detect and prevent unauthorized or illegal activity.
4. SMS Consent and Opt-Out

Terms & Conditions:
By providing your phone number and opting in, you agree to receive conversational messages from Ventura Transit System. Message frequency may vary. On average, you may receive 1-2 messages per month.
By providing us with your phone number, you agree to receive text messages and notifications from Ventura Transit System regarding services related to transportation solutions, directions to pick-up and drop-off locations. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Your personal and mobile information will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes under any circumstances. Your data will not be transferred to external organizations. Ventura Transit System does not send promotional or marketing text messages. Clients call or submit an online form to opt-in or opt-out. If you opt out, you will receive no further messages from Ventura Transit System. We do not send any marketing or promotional text messages. 5. Service Providers & Third-Party Access
We may employ third-party companies and individuals to help us provide the Service, such as SMS platform providers (e.g., GoTo Connect, Twilio) and transportation partners (e.g., Gold Coast Health Plan, CenCal Health) to coordinate service. These third parties may have access to your Personal Information only as necessary to perform their services on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use your information for other purposes.
6. Location Data Use
Location data is collected while you are logged into the application and the vehicle is performing service. This data is used solely for operational purposes (vehicle tracking, trip assignment, mileage calculation) and is not used for advertising. You may disable location tracking when a vehicle is not in service.
7. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
The Service does not explicitly use browser cookies. However, the app may include third-party code or libraries that use cookies or other tracking technologies. You can choose to accept or refuse cookies, but refusing may affect the functionality of certain portions of the Service.

Our Service may contain links to external websites or applications that are not operated by VTS. We have no control over the content, privacy policies, or practices of these sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
