About Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT)

NEMT services are provided to Arkansas Medicaid members who require transportation assistance to Medicaid-billable healthcare appointments and have no other means of transportation. Verida arranges transportation for all Arkansas Medicaid members residing in counties located in Regions A, B, C, D, and G of the state.

Call Verida to arrange NEMT to covered medical services at least three (3) business days in advance of the appointment date. Trips can be scheduled up to 30 business days in advance. Use the telephone numbers listed below to schedule, change, or cancel transportation.

When scheduling transportation, please have the following information ready for the Customer Service Representative when calling:

NEMT is a service that is provided to Arkansas Medicaid members who require transportation assistance to Medicaid-billable healthcare services and have no other means of transportation.
Contact the Medicaid office in your county/region to apply for Medicaid or to find out more about NEMT.

Verida arranges transportation for all Arkansas Medicaid members residing in counties located in the five regions of the State. Call the Verida number listed above that corresponds to your county.

  • Region A: Baxter, Benton, Boone, Carroll, Madison, Marion, Searcy, and Washington.
  • Region B: Cleburne, Fulton, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Sharp, Stone, Van Buren, White, and Woodruff.
  • Region C: Clay, Craighead, Crittenden, Cross, Greene, Lawrence, Mississippi, Poinsett, Randolph, and St. Francis.
  • Region D: Conway, Crawford, Franklin, Johnson, Logan, Perry, Polk, Pope, Scott, Sebastian, and Yell.
  • Region G: Faulkner, Lonoke, and Pulaski.
Does Verida provide private transportation to appointments?

Since this is a shared-ride service, it is possible that you will ride with other passengers picked up at or near your pick-up location. Verida offers public transportation vouchers and fuel/gas reimbursement as an alternative.

Transportation is available to services in your home community. Travel outside your home community is available only when those specialized services are not available within your home community.
You are only able to carry one bag onto the vehicle. The bag must fit on your lap…no exceptions.
If you have a medical reason that requires assistance, one adult escort or attendant may accompany you. They must have the same origin and destination as you. Escorts MUST be requested when scheduling the appointment.
To schedule transportation, you should book at least three (3) business days in advance of the appointment date. You may book up to 30 business days in advance.
Transportation is provided to and from Medicaid covered, medical appointments only.
  • Member’s full name, phone number, address, date of birth and county of residence
  • Member’s Medicaid number as it appears on their Arkansas Medicaid card,  or member’s social security number and date of birth
  • Specify any special needs (i.e. oxygen, escort, over-sized wheelchair, etc.) when scheduling the appointment
  • An emergency contact’s name and phone number
  • Destination information – address, phone number, doctor’s name, type of appointment, and name of the medical facility
  • Member’s mobility status (walking, wheelchair, stretcher)
  • Member’s  room number (for stretcher only)
